Andes Mountain Mint Doughnut Holes

Andes Mountain Mint Doughnut Holes
This recipe for Andes Mountain Mint Doughnut Holes was a failure, so let me explain. I absolutely love mint and chocolate together…it is one of the best food combinations that I can possibly put in my mouth. That is why I was so excited to make doughnut holes (again) with mint and chocolate…..that combination is irresistible (to me at least).  I had found Andes mint baking pieces at Aldi was super excited to use them!
I mixed the mints into the batter ever so carefully and then put them into the cake pop maker, eagerly expecting a great result. Instead of fantastic doughnut holes (or cake pop balls or whatever you want to call them) I was left with a food that was decent and tasted alright to my taste buds. However, they were lacking in the area of sweetness. So if you want to make this recipe, go right ahead and maybe try the Andes mints again. You may want to add more….or be daring and adventurous and make it with chocolate chips! I think the latter will turn out much better…..who doesn’t love sweeter and richer right. It’s a no brainer!
Andes Mountain Mint Doughnut Holes

These Andes Mountain Mint Doughnut Holes are slightly sweet with a hint of mint so if you want something more minty and sweet then you need to add a slight amount more peppermint extract and use regular chocolate chips instead of the Andes pieces. You may also want to consider adding more sweetener. They are also light and will not leave you feeling like you ate something you shouldn’t have…which is always good right?!
