Easy Milk Foam

You don’t need fancy equipment to make this easy milk foam to top a morning cup of coffee, tea, or other personalized creations. All you need is a small mason or jam jar with a lid (and the ingredients of course!). It is as easy as one, two three! Put the ingredients in a mason jar, screw the lid tightly on, shake, microwave, and spoon on its destination. Below you find two variations of this recipe. If you use the second variation that uses egg whites heat the milk first otherwise you will get a big gloopy eggy mess in your jar. If your eggs have been pasteurized you may not even have to heat it altogether. It is really up to you and your preferences. All that heating does is to stabilize the foam you created. Easy Milk Foam Variation 1

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c . Milk of choice I used unsweetened almond milk
  • Pinch of cream of tarter may be able to leave this out, but I found it worked better with it
  • Sweetener optional
  • Extract of choice optional

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a glass mason jar and secure the lid
  2. shake vigorously until the milk is foamy (may double in size)
  3. remove the lid and place in microwave for 1 minute
  4. spoon out foam and place onto its destination
  5. repeat the shaking process and spooning off foam without reheating microwave unless the milk has cooled

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c . Milk of choice I used unsweetened almond milk
  • Pinch of cream of tarter may be able to leave this out, but I found it worked better with it

  • Extract of choice optional
  • 1/2-1 egg white

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients except the egg white in a glass mason jar without the lid
  2. gently heat in the microwave until warm (not scalding hot), 45 seconds
  3. add the egg white
  4. shake vigorously until the milk is foamy (may double in size)
  5. spoon out foam and place onto its destination
  6. repeat the shaking process and spooning off foam without reheating microwave

Recipe Notes

Use variation 2 only if your egg whites have been pasteurized or come from a safe source
